About me
Hi, I'm Ethan Tran, a senior at Diamond Bar High School interested in medicine, biomedical research, and computational biology. My goal is to become a physician-scientist and connect molecular and genomic research with patient care.
My current work includes modeling NLRP3 and LL-37 at Stanford, analyzing GWAS data and candidate genes at UCI, and studying chronic stress and HPA-axis dysregulation at UCR. I also built PulmoSight, a browser-based chest X-ray research tool, and contributed to Blossom, an event-planning chatbot.
Through clinical shadowing with hematologist-oncologist Bao Dao, MD, and more than 200 hours of volunteering at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, I have seen how research, communication, and patient care come together in medicine. I also lead service and student programs through the American Red Cross, WeBall, APISU, and FBLA.
Outside of school and research, I play basketball, build computers, spend time with my family, and try new restaurants.
